The Grant

To all and to singler to whom these Presents shall come:

I David Jose Ortiz a humble Herald in the County of Anne Arundel, in the Great State of Maryland send Greetings!

WHEREAS, a petition of arms hath been made unto me by The Most Reverend John W. Rinkle D.D. OCMA, Metropolitan, on the Twenty Fourth day of February, in the Year of our Lord Two Thousand and Ten to honor the creation of The Celtic Episcopal Church. The aforementioned jurisdiction was brought into being to make available a Celtic Christian alternative based upon the ancient Celtic Christian Church which was patterned after the Orthodox Church in the British Isles during the first millennium of its existence. Metropolitan John sets forth that The Celtic Episcopal Church is characterized as having a number of congregations around the country who live their life together as friends, around the table of the Blessed Sacrament, and practice the Christian life, together, in love.  Therefore, after careful review, it is clear that Metropolitan John’s petition to create new Armorial Bearings for this holy institution is sound and that The Celtic Episcopal Church will undoubtedly serve the faithful in Jesus’ name by supporting true fellowship, community, blessing, healing, deliverance, freedom, love, kindness, selflessness, and a life lived to its fullest day by day. Thus the humble Herald assigned shall design, fashion and record for posterity the proposed Arms for The Celtic Episcopal Church within the American Roll of Independent Arms and ensure no duplication of standards exists therein...

Now I, the said Herald, having taken the petition into consideration, am pleased to comply and so acting on behalf of the American Roll of Independent Arms, I do by these presents affirm and witness that The Celtic Episcopal Church and its Inheritors-in-Law will henceforward assume the following Arms that is to say:: Party per pale. Dexter, Azure a relief of the Western Hemisphere Or. Sinister, party per fess; in chief Argent a hawthorn plant Proper surrounded by a bordure Vert charged with a Celtic braid, in base Sable a cross Or… the Arms supported by:: in dexter a lion rampant-regardant Or, sinister a Welsh dragon rampant-regardant Gules...  the mantle being draped thusly:: A Robe of The Episcopacy, Gules trimmed Or…  and finally, having the motto:: “Ancient Present Balanced”  A most humble rendition is offered upon this document...

To have and to hold the said Arms unto the aforementioned The Celtic Episcopal Church and its Inheritors-in-Law forever and the same to bear, use, show, set forth and advance onto shield, robe, banner, badge or otherwise according to the Laws of Arms observing and using their due and proper differences. So in this spirit, may no duplication of honors, misrepresentation of intent, interruption of use or challenge of this, our country’s strictest copyright, be levied against this holy institution’s Arms...

In Witness I have hereunto subscribed my name and title and affixed the Arms of this Office.  This Coat of Arms Shall be recorded and kept protected in the diligent care of the American Roll of Independent Arms and its caretakers on this Tenth day of August, Two Thousand and Ten…
